Sunday night I received a text that someone had a pile of bees in their backyard. I have heard of others having this experience, but it was a first for me. After checking out the pile I brought out a box with some previously used frames and set it by the bees. Realizing I forgot my brush in the car I walked away from the bees and came back to the bees walking into my box. Easiest capture I have had.![]()

A tree company dropped off some logs that will eventually be firewood. In one part of the logs there had been a colony of honeybees. When the log was dropped off it was not active. It appears a swarm has now established its new home. An extraction is now on the agenda for this week. #apiary #honeybees #beekeeping #michiganbeekeeper #michiganbeekeeper #michiganapiaries
